Status report on the SR-138 (East) realignment

CalTrans crews are hard at work realigning State Route 138 east (A.K.A. Highway 138, A.K.A. Rim of the World Highway) from 1.9 miles east of Interstate 15 (A.K.A. I-15) to just west of Post Office Road. Apparently, realignment is CalTrans-speak for scrapping the previous road and replacing it with something completely different.

Median barrier project in Apple Valley set to begin next week

SAN BERNARDINO — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and Sully-Miller Contracting began work on a raised curb median project on State Route 18 (SR-18) in Apple Valley. The construction area is approximately .75 miles, with the project limits from Navajo Road to Kiowa Road. The $1.1 million construction plan was identified as a necessary safety project.

Apple Valley road work alert

As part of a Safe Routes to Schools project, a mile of Ramona Road, between Navajo and Central roads, is being reconstructed. Additionally, curb, gutters, new asphalt and striping will be completed in front of Rancho Verde Elementary School. Construction should be complete by the end of July 2016.
